The Spark of her Life

by Marc Ortiz   Jul 30, 2018

Life is like a never ending maze,
Sometimes people will make the wrong turn.
Most of the time we just stand and give up.
But everyone needs a hand to conquer the task.

There is a girl trapped in a bleak, cold place.
Everyday she is tormented by a demon.
This beast uses fear to dominate her mind.
I pity this girl because her life is slowly fading.

This lady is an exquisite unpolished gem,
That is waiting to shine in the darkness
I wish that she can let go of the evil anchor
That the demon chained into her fragile heart.

In the past, I also suffocated into that deep abyss
I vowed to myself that I will never go near it again.
But why does it torment me so much,
to see her sink slowly into the dark?

If I can have one wish granted to me in this lifetime,
I would pray that she has not drowned in the ocean.
I promise that I will plunge straight into my fear
And swim as fast as I could to help her rise

So that she can finally radiate the spark of her life.
