The Sea is Dark

by Mathew Fouts   Aug 13, 2018

When you stare into the sea, what is it you find?
Literally an ocean, or metaphor of the mind?
Beauty in it's expanse or dark and full of terror?
for those that look upon it, or maybe just the bearer?

Your eyes are like an ocean, with mysteries untold
The more time spent exploring, the more that they unfold
These oceans are not dark but terrors can be found
Yet, I'm still lost inside them...and i'm not afraid to drowned.

These waters are not dark, But certainly too deep
For all the light that pours upon them to penetrate or seep
The Deepest of any Ocean, but the depths do not scare me
I've lived where light cannot pass through and it's only helped prepare me

So here I am on the beach of the Archipelago
Asking to be the only one whose oceans you let flow
From the waters of your deepest seas to each and every shore
In the hopes of finding unknown treasures we can both explore
