A change of scenery

by Michael   Aug 19, 2018

floating through an orchestral valley-

the sun glances over the shoulders
of the rolling hillside;
its solar drum beats a light, vibration
of rays which fan over a lavender
river

-where a scene hatches-out

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

violins play, untwining stigmas.
Soothing the air with empathy;
a healing melody of strings that bring aid
to those broken within.

the soft tone of flutes
fall from hidden branches
resting soulful notes among weeping willows.

water-lilies bob and dance upon shimmering ripples;
delicately they pirouette, as they pootle
across the surface of the water.

a silent mid-air performance by
dragonflies flitting;
in a tangled-tango, and
butterflies lock together in a flutter of kisses

such welcome company,
in solitude.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

..coasting further down stream
no shallow judgements are passed-
just the scenic route of poetry
which sails past in depth
drifting beneath rainbows;
that arch like colourful bridges.

a vision is
dressed with imagination

on each side of this vale, stands an
audience of lofty trees swaying together;
boughs intertwined as the rhythm breezes through.

the level of water rises;
gradually, as does the tempo
and into the greeting arms of the sea
where a delicate roll of symbols are heard
the sound of dolphins echo, an enchanting
ballad resonating with a sense of communication

rays of the sun fade a farewell.

the moon emerges and stars scatter
stringing together notes upon the
song sheet of the evening sky,
and spirits are lifted unto a twilight carousel.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

this not of death warming its hands
nor
a religious passage

Just,
a change of scenery.

..captured in a teardrop of dream
rolling down the face of a wounded
heart.
