Pertubation

by Aegis   Aug 20, 2018

Take my pen;
I have no need for empty words.

Take my breath;
I do not find solace in whispered dreams.

Take my soul;
I am but a shell of a man,
void of all sanctity.

Take me-
My dreams are frayed and fading.

I am chaos.

    You've captured really well the feeling of emptiness in a lost soul. I think it will resonate with most people at some point in their lives. Milly x

    Isn't it so strange that we can feel the presence of emptiness? Or maybe not the presence, but the absence of who we are.

    I felt such a sense of hopelessness in this - that even the promise of dreams are not something that could interest you.

    Powerful poem, as always.

      This is an old write, one full of pure, raw hopelessness. I'm glad I got the feels out there.
