Time never stops

by Catchy   Oct 6, 2018

Time never stops
not when it storms
or when thunder claps
Time never stops
not when
we shed a tear

All I have are memories
to fuel my longing
The best ones
to make me cry
Time hasn’t stopped
but my world did
as moments passed me by

Time didn’t stop
So as being a daughter
But I wish time
for a little mercy
And take me back
from when I was small
A second chance
to set it right
and give my very all

But from here
I’d regret everyday
Is it alright
to never be okay?
Because when you had gone
not even the sun or rain
stopped time for me
to save me
from the pain

There have been countless times where I think time, the world, should stop or at least pause... but it's not always considerate. Sometimes it's unfathomable how the world could keep moving, people still going about their daily business, when we hurt and grieve so deeply. It seems cruel and like a punishment when we're told to keep moving like we can just forget or easily detach ourselves from loss.

Such a powerfully emotional piece, especially when you ask time for mercy. I'm sorry for all you're going through and the pain you're facing. I hope time and memories help heal, some way, somehow.
