Set Love Free

by Once an Angel   Oct 17, 2018

I love you.
But love, alone,
is not enough I see.
You seek to
justify,
quality,
specify,
label, and contain.
Can’t I just love?
Do we have to destroy it
by forcing a name?
I beg you,
set it free,
and give it wings,
to be
whatever it dreams.

Love is love and it comes in many forms and many degrees. Its something given freely and cannot be demanded from someone. If someone tries to instruct or make demands tge it clearly isn't love its control. So run away as fast as you can.... A thought provoking piece that highlights the dark side of imitation love. But I think it’s equally important to remember that just as love comes in many forms, so do people’s needs for love. What may be love for one, may not feel like love to another. Two people can love each other with all their hearts, but if their forms of love don’t fulfill the others’ needs, it isn’t a healthy relationship. And those cases can be the hardest, because no matter how much you love, you’ll just keep abusing one another. So it’s up to one side to be strong enough to finally say goodbye.
