For Joy

by D.   Nov 25, 2018

We fled
into the evening,

you were mute
as the air;

we counted the
boats that traversed
the horizon,
I kissed your lips
once; parted your hair.

our love was a tryst
at best, we knew time
not as an enemy,

but a friend, whose
embrace kept us tucked
up and safe.

days are short, but
remembering is longer;

I find comfort in its
spell.

    You really is the prince of poetry. Even if I miss the chance to nominate this poem, it will be going into the nomination list this week. You express a whole universe of emotions with fewer stars(words.)
    Loved it.
