I took too much time trying to comment on this poem, I’ve been doing more reading than commenting, but this time I had to

I could see that this piece has been described as a masterpiece and a gem, but in my opinion it’s more rhan that. It is you, it is the reality of many around your age.

You’re suffocated and hurt, yet it feels like you’re not sure whether to let go or not. It’s always confusing of who you want to stay by your side.

This is what I saw, I’m sorry if I’m out of line. But I’m so happy this is in the front page of the website, so that many can reach it!!

    Judge's Comment:

Poet on the Piano has done it again with their poem, “Putrefy.”, bringing you into a darkly metaphorical place of neglectful love and its inability to ever sate a need for happiness. The ending is what tied the piece together for me, giving the reader a visualization of someone who is fully willing to suffocate their partner so that they, instead, might grow and flourish. This poem highlights a common and toxic type of relationship that is sometimes so hard to escape; especially when you love the person who’s killing you.
