Dreamcatcher

by Ya----Na   Dec 3, 2018

I am a dream catcher,
a lovely wild flower,
which blooms at night
secretly in between the trees
to watch over the
disappointments and heartaches,
so they can't break the beauty on her face
while she sleeps.

For she is the fire and ice,
the reason why I write,
a moment in time;
While, I am rejected by the Sun
to live under the spell of the stars;
a shadow of blissfulness which doesn't go
too far.

Often I touch her soul through the dreams,
and my empty cup of unrequited love fills
with the poetry written in her eyes;
I wish I could write her silence to express
why a kind soul is burying herself in
a thousand brilliant lies.

So I just want to end,
but young hearts,
they always attract each other to be together
in shackles of ecstasy
and in those cozy moments,
I see a dawn of new universe
waiting for me and her.

    Hope and longing and heartbreak all present themselves strongly in this piece. The very idea of being "rejected by the Sun" speaks volumes in and of itself. Your voice, as usual, is emotive and distinct!

    There’s some gorgeous imagery here! Genuinely beautiful.

    ‘Often I touch her soul through the dreams,
    and my empty cup of unrequited love fills
    with the poetry written in her eyes;
    I wish I could write her silence to express
    why a kind soul is burying herself in

    Is a stand out stanza alone! Well done :)
