Just you and me

by Walter   Dec 10, 2018

I arrange a day off early
And surprise you at the door
Your eyes light up as you start to smile
To that look which I can't ignore

You reach out to embrace me
My arms still behind my back
You start and feel a little confused
To the affection that I lack

It's now I reveal the roses
To see your blood that starts to flow
You cannot help yourself but blush
As your lips form a perfect O

My other hand holds a bottle
Of course your favourite wine
At this moment is when I tell you
I've made plans for us to dine

As I take your hand to lead you
And you're looking a little stressed
This is when you try to protest
And say you're not even dressed

I tell you not to worry
That this place is a bit low key
And there won't be anyone else there
It will be just for you and me

You are confused but follow
As I lead you to our car
With your favourite song now playing
Though we don't have to dive too far

It's only just down the road
Our secluded beach is the place
And I cannot help but smile
To see that expression on your face

But I want to keep you guessing
As I unload all I prepared in the back
Some plates with glasses and candles
For a romantic dinner I pre-packed

I set it up at the picnic table
Which is within meters of the shore
As I sit opposite you in the sunset
To dine with the girl that I adore

Another great romantic piece. Its lovely to read and there is nothing better than a romantic picnic on the sea shore watching the sun go down. Superb. Milly x
