Last Christmas

by Milly Hayward   Dec 12, 2018

Christmas time is here once more
I'm off to shop at every store
to buy the gifts for one and all
my most hated seasonal chore

What to buy? I can never think
get it wrong and they'll be a stink
Last year dad got lot of socks
except from Mum, who bought him jocks

Mum groaned aloud at yet more smellies
sighed on seeing those orange wellies
unwrapped from dad, some sexy gear
then blushed at his attempts to leer

Brother was happy with some books
Sis loved things to improve her looks
Grandma didn't liked what she got
Gramps was happy with a potting pot

The best gift, of last Christmas day
was the best in almost every way
the kids were silent all day long
due to toffee glue, ultra strong!
