Thoughts Of You

I sit enthralled with thoughts of you,
All consuming every minute,
Like rays of light in summer.

Your light sits perched on a tree,
Like a sweet bird that's singing
With warm and bright reflections.

Your songs fill my heart
With thoughts of love that shine
And drown all darkness.

The incandescent light gleams
So I'm seeing you in dreams
And even with my eyes closed.

I pause to ponder you
And what these feelings are,
Or why they feel so new.

These thoughts I have of you
Each and every moment
Like air that flows through me.

Like a pretty bird up high
Perched up on a tree
I look in awe and stay away from thee.

I appreciate your beauty here
So you won't fly away
Though you may fly to me.

I can't know tomorrow
And there's no time for sorrow
So I'll sit here with thoughts of you.
