Choices

by ddavidd   Jan 17, 2019

The reason we keep on going
is that we are not going anywhere.
The reason we never arrive
is that there is nowhere truly to go.

We bemuse our lacking of choices
as choice
like planets that always are going
but they never arrive.

There's something about this that makes me uneasy, but also that makes my thoughts twist and turn like a cycle. We decide and perhaps "own" our choices because we are desperately trying to convince ourselves we are in control of our destiny. Of where we land.

I love the depth in this, the brevity and the realization... do we move forward just to say we are moving? When it is more like we are roaming. We are so vocal about careers and paths chosen because we are afraid that we won't have as much of an impact as we would like.

Ahh. I could just sit on this all night. Such a thought-provoking write.

I see the other side that makes you uneasy because purposefully I neglected. That in all our circling motion we are evolving as well. but the sad mood while writing this forced me to undermine that utterly slow and invisible motion, A poet can locate the focal point as s/he pleases.
It is unfortunate that in most of my pieces there are such angles but due to their nature, I can not make them easy for the reader to understand like this one.

Oh WOW, this has said it all!!
It’s like when we seek a goal and we don’t get to it, we have to know it is ok not to. Many are also seeking it, so if we keep on seeking it, we will go in circles.
And if we sought it, we’ll end up looking for something else another goal. Which we will also end up in circles.
So, is life is actually a circle?

I dont know if all of what I said makes sense, I’m sorry if it doesn’t :)
Anyways I really like this, it got me thinking!!

Actually you are on the money. Grasping that the planets, even though always are on the move, never going anywhere, and the melancholy of realising this in every aspect of our existence.

To answer your question; "So, is life is actually a circle?" yes everything is circle, from atoms to solar system, nights and day to seasons, from daily routines to busses and trains routes...
