Decade

How are you doing after all these years
has the sands of time dried up your tears
the wounds will heal, you have nothing to fear
for the sun will shine, once the rain cloud clears

Remember the times at the old arcade
ever since then, its been close to a decade
you stole my heart with each smile you made
siphoning focus from examination grades

I hope you know that i do not regret
that gift to you, something cardiac
the piece of my heart, just a little crack
is part of me i cannot take back

recall the time when our heartbeats climbed
when our presence altered its rhythm and rhyme
since then I've heard our wedding bells chime
exchanged rings and vows but at different times

floating down the aisle as gentle as a cloud
your splendor captures the eyes of crowd
beautiful and sweet as the first time we met
that allure and charm i will never forget

it won't be long till i hear children cry
and they would love the stories of how hard i'd try
iron up my heart and hold that tear in my eye
smile and be happy that i never said goodbye
