Welcome to Recovery

by Chris Cole   Feb 12, 2019

To all the addicts,
We know what addiction is.
It's a disease,
That's killing Men, Woman, and Kids.

I used drugs to feed my addiction,
Some used drugs for recreation.
I came to recovery to treat my addiction,
Some came to recovery because it was recommended by a judge or probation.

Every reason for recovery is a good reason,
No matter the day, month, or the season.
It doesn't matter what they have degrees in,
Or what color they are, like black or caucasion.

It doesn't matter if their lazy,
If their crazy or if their name is Daisey or Paisley.
I don't care if your eyes are hazel,
Even if you think your life needs a new appraisal.
We don't care if you did drugs by needle, or up your nasal.

Everyone is welcome, cute or ugly,
Don't be scared if your stomachs bubbly.
Come join us so you can find your new discovery,
And for every addict, new or old, WELCOME TO RECOVERY.

Addiction in any form takes over and discolours all aspect of life. Recovery is a house built on a strong reason to take back control of your life. Thank you for sharing Milly x
