Comments : Be True to Yourself

Very inspirational Milly and reminds me of a quote by E.E. Cummings...“It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.” And like you say in your poem, it's better than being a sheep. This would be great advice to many kids today who are constantly being molded and influenced by social media everyday.

Thank you Walter. I do think its quite tragic when people follow their peers or try and be someone that they are not. These people will not be real friends and at the first opportunity steer them into trouble or steer trouble their way. Being yourself and true to yourself is definitely better than trying to be a clone of someone else. Milly x

Dear Milly what a true and inspiring piece. My motto was and is remain true to yourself. When I look at my granddaughters I watch them being busy trying to impress others or look like them. I keep telling them if you yourself or others can't accept the way you are then there is a problem. Beauty comes from within. Thank you for sharing and definitely goes in my favorite box. Much love

I do agree that social media is molding kids these days, we can see that in every part of the world, which is reallly sad!!

Embracing ones true self and those special people around you is certainly worthy of note. I think today's generation struggle more with peer pressure. I hope your inspirational poem helps.
    Wonderful! Xx

Thank you Mr Darcy, I wrote it to be inspirational. There is far too much peer pressure on young people particularly with the social media. Take care Milly x
