RE : Hi

by Adreamer   Feb 22, 2019

Coming home, here,

breaks through every layer of brick
I've built up in the last year.

Looking for welcoming arms
and hearts wide open ready to
ask about my journey just reminds me

of why I haven't come home, here

sooner. . .

Dammit I'm so gutted I don't have a nomination left or I'd have used it on this (I swore I did) because even though this is a simple piece, it's so beautifully done and so very truthful in its simplicity that many of us having that old familiar feeling when we come back here that we wonder why we didn't come back sooner, for me it took much longer to come back whilst I was 'finding a little bit more of myself and the world' but quite a few of the same names/faces were around and some new ones too :) welcome home nice to see you back

Despite never having left my home city, I find this eerily familiar. An evocative and well written piece :)
