As seasons pass, there is a day,
I’ll visit where, your bones now lay.
Such grief beats deep, within my chest
for where I come, to where you rest.
Upon your grave I’ll lay a rose
and whisper words I have composed
~ ~ ~ ~
you were the one, I loved most dear
I wish, that neither-one was here.
So cruel is life to have to die
to mourn and grieve, to say goodbye.
in death comes change, unto a trend
to feel a void, without a friend.
so sad, is truth, here sat alone
to know i’ll walk without you home.
Your heart was wrapped in strands of gold
that sadly fell to somewhere cold
I know times pass, and life goes on
but thoughts of you are never gone.
So seasons pass, i’m here today
and hope you hear, the words I say.
Oh my god. This broke my heart, and really impressed me. The style reminded me of an old favourite poem - Music I Heard by Conrad Aiken, (look it up). The structure, the flow, the word choice and sentiments, it's all well combined and touches the reader's heart. Thank you for sharing, I hope it goes to the front page!
