17:55 (Expected: 18:17)

Due to planned engineering,
the train was delayed
by 22 minutes

negating the need for orderly
queues, and rather prepare
us for a foot race.

Nobody really cares how bad
your day was when there’s
ever a slight change in
scheduling.

For some reason, there was
one vacant seat, reserved
for the boldest,
or eldest.

(How long does one wait before
seizing a few golden moments
of temporary comfort?)

After a few minutes, a young
woman budged her way
to the final sitting
place.

I heard some murmurs, a huff,
or two, and the other
passengers were left

regretting not taking that golden
opportunity to be seated
for their 15 minute
journey home.

Oh WOW, how unexpected and random this is. This could be read as it is, or there could be more. Life does not always head where expected, and sometimes there are small decisions yet meaningful to be made.
In the end the boldest won. I love this!!

Ha, thank you. I would truly hope people read more into this, you’re right! Life is all about grabbing that seat. :)
