Dream

by silvershoes   Apr 22, 2019

Cool wind blowing through my hair
Smells of earth and sweat
Taste of salt on my lips

I could fall asleep on the passenger side
Safe, you would cradle us both in the
Curve of the long highway

Do you remember how it was
Laying beside you, laying beside me
Deep into you, fall deep into me

I watch the moon melt from the sky
Colors changing as fast as I am
And if it was a dream, I’m still dreaming

As I read this, I was reminded of my youth, when I would drive around with the windows down, a cool tune playing and my curtains (which were, I admit, highlighted at the time) blowing in the wind. The word nostalgia doesn't begin to cover it!
Glad to see this nominated as it really is an emotive write.

    Take care, Jane
