this tired trope

by donk2ymouth   May 18, 2019

he thinks he left his rights
here or there, or somewhere
after-hours, drunken prowlers
he recalls his boozy plight
lost at last, yesterday night
what a crazy wild wavy oopsy-daisy
promise, maybe, love you baby-
he knows he does, when he's buzzed
at least, alright, he might tonight
cuz you're fraid to fight this crazy life
this loosey-goosey, please dont abuse me
let go of this frayed and strained rope
just shoestring strong, this goes wrong
here hangs he who hung his head
when you said you wished him dead,
he unwound that saving thread and
prayed for psalms, put his crosses on
and hoped for holy ghost
