Moments Like This

by DestinyAwaits   Jul 12, 2004

At times I feel like we’re on the same page,
But then I realize you’re a chapter behind.
You seem to always find me in a vulnerable stage,
Moments like this I hope you keep my feelings in mind.

When you call my face just glows,
To know that you were thinking of me.
How you feel inside no one knows,
If only you could open up and let it free.

You've always had the words to sweep me off my feet,
Or the softest touch putting right to sleep.
Being faithful to the one who is not mine I shall defeat,
Moments like this at night I'm left to weep.

When you write and say how you miss me,
Makes me think that you actually care.
Then I read between the lines and see,
That I'm just a last resort... now is that really fare.

You've told me about these other girls you'd like to date,
Not realizing who your talking to on the other end.
I simply say sorry I can't relate,
Moments like this make me see I'll always be JUST a friend.

Now I'm not one to be conceded,
But I know I'd never hurt you or do you wrong.
I've always tried to give you what you needed,
I can't give up now I've been persistent far too long.

Thinking about how wonderful you really are,
Makes me want to tare my hair out and scream.
Four years gone by I've made it this far,
Moments like this show me that we'll only be together in our dreams.
