A Walk With The Dead.

by Unseen Exposure   Aug 19, 2004

I don't know how I got here,
But I can't find an escape,
I don't know who I am,
But this person, I do hate,

I don't know where I am,
I just feel so out of reach,
There's no one here beside me,
On this cold and barren beach,

I'm surrounded by this darkness,
And I'm overcome with fear,
I've been welcomed to this island,
Where sadness is held so dear,

I'm alone and so afraid,
And the only people here are dead,
I'm looking all around,
And all signs point to blood shed,

It seems as though I'm not the only one,
No one here ever could survive,
Now they've entombed themselves in death,
Their pain will never subside,

They all were victims of this hurt,
I can tell by the scars I see,
Their eyes are filled with longing,
They just wanted to be set free,

As I walk along the sand,
I pass so many souls along the way,
They all have their own story,
Of how they chose to pass away,

Not one could overcome the darkness,
Of this awful, lonely place,
Every one of them gave up,
It was just too much to face,

I don't want to join these souls,
I want to overcome this pain,
But it looks as though my path is chosen,
And forever in this hell I shall remain,

But I will try to last this journey,
For as long as I may be led,
And as I hold on for dear life,
I'll be here walking with the dead.
