The Star

The first star I see at night
reminds me of the twinkle
in your eyes
that you once had so long ago.

as time did past
just like the rest
the star in you eyes faded.

I tried so hard to not believe
that my star was dying.
Why so does this have to be?
Why now lord are you taking him away from me.

On the shores we stood like
two couples in love.
Always watching the sun fade.
To feel the sprays
of the water splash besides us.

Oh how in love we were.
But now that god has said its your time.
I must move on
but always remember.

The greatest thing you ever gave to me
the star power in your eyes
when ever you were around me.
