God's failure

by julie   Sep 1, 2004

Bodies rotten, the dead forgotten.
Tortured souls, missing holes.
Painful love, is God above?
Your hate thrives, your tongue lies.
Your greed infests, your mind never rests.
My heart bleeds, my soul needs.
My scared, my face charred.
This world dies, with all our lies.
This world ends, it will never mend.
Our hope dissolves, our problems wont resolve.
Our eyes never meet, and our minds constantly cheat.
Our words cruel, and our lives governed by rules.
God are you even there? Can you see there is only despair?
God, is this what you intended? Can you see it can not be mended?
Their lifeÂ’s ambition power and money. They are attracted to it, as a bee to honey.
Strength of men fades, the creations which you have made.
Dying flowers, God has no power.
A world of corruption, pain and hate. It seems that failure has become your fate.
They do not know love, they do not know fear. Everything they want will always appear.
I slit my wrists and watch them bleed. Now my lord, I have done thy deed.

NB. It is important you read this, so as not to think i am a deluded suicidal freak.
You may find this sick and disturbing, but think about why you do. Is it because of my perception of the world and how negative but true it is? Or is it because you agree with what i am saying and find it hard to believe the actual realisation of how disgraceful our world is? Or is it perhaps because you never realised before how other people outlook on the world was, because i dont beleiev anything which i say in this poem is wrong or unbelievable, unless of course you are religious and dont beleive god has failed. I am not really trying to say god has failed, but more we have failed to meet up to his expectations by how we ruin his world, as we are supposed to be stweards but rather than protect the world we have ruined it.
The last line purely incinuates, that rather than let the world kill or destroy me i would rather kill myself, as the world would in time. Hence the part 'i have done thy deed' as he created the world that would kill me physically and mentally.
