I can see you here by me
I can bring you near to me
My telephoto lens brings us closer

Can you feel me bring it into focus?
Peering into your 20x soul
Beautiful negatives making me whole
The click of a shutter and you’re mine forever
Immortalized on the dark room wall

When I look back you look so still
In 3x5 prints you don’t seem so alive
I feel that somehow I’ve been deprived
Of love, of life, of you

Yet still I take up my telephoto lens
Hoping to see you here with me
Trying to drag you near to me
And my telephoto lens can bring us closer
