Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day

Lord help us to be thankful
On this Thanksgiving day.
Help us to acknowledge you
In every way.

Your patience and love
Sustains each of our lives
Without your involvement
None of us would thrive.

You taught us to love others
More than ourselves;
We forget to reach out
Until your spirit indwells.

We acknowledge your presence
When we see in our fright
Dreaded outcomes altered
And our lives turn out right.

Help us to remember
The joy of such moments
When our faith springs anew
And we again accept your atonement.

Let these times
Ring clear in our minds,
As we now offer thanks
Which to you we assign.
