    oh that actually made me cry and when i got to the bottom i was relived a bit to know you didn't go through something like that but your so right that has happened to alot of people and it tears their life apart. i give you so much gratitude to you for writing a poem as such and like you did everyone needs to be notified of this as such. to read the words you write actually made me feel as if they were true as if those words came from inside of you.

    I'm in the middle. Don't know if I'm for or against the death penalty. But I'm completely against it when they kill the wrong person. They killed them for being accused of murder, when they just turned around and committed murder themselves.
    The poem was really great! Good job.

    This is an incredibly unlikely scenario, and doesn't support your anti-death penalty position at all. Statistics show that for every criminal executed, SEVETEEN (17) other murders are deterred! Whenever the death penalty is abolished in an area, the murder rate just explodes upwards. The Death Penalty saves innocent lives. And being on Death Row, if you're innocent, you have a higher chance of getting off the hook, because they look over the case so throughly. All in all, this does not support your unresearched stance.

    Get your facts straight; this DOES happen. DNA results can come out wrong - I know because I've read a lot about it. Please don't throw that unresearched shit in my face, because I wouldn't write a poem to lie to people. They would not make a movie about it if it was impossible.

    Woah, a movie?? THEN IT MUST BE TRUE!!!! Please don't accuse me of not doing any research. You misunderstand my intention - I think, and the statistics back me up on this, that the Death Penalty saves lives.
    FACT - Thirteen THOUSAND (13,000) people have been killed by escaped, released, or paroled murderers.
    FACT - 17 or 18 Murders have been deterred per criminal executed.
    FACT - 1 in 20 Murderers in Oregon have killed again within 5 years.
    FACT - Since 1970, when the Death Penalty was reinstated, there have been 23 innocents excuted, but 12,600 innocents saved by the deterrent effect.
    The question that needs to be asked is, which more immoral?
    Killing a few innocent and guilty men to save the lives of many more innocents OR
    Saving a few innocent and guilty men, but doom many times as much to death?
    You decide.
    I look forward to your response.

    Alright, then. You wanted a response, so here it is.

    I didn't say that it HAD to be true; it's just that when it says 'based on a true story' it's usually true.
    My eyes; they're rolling.

    Hmm, 'a few lives' you say, eh? Well, one life is one too many. It's horrible that people get murdered; and my heart breaks for their families, but killing their murderer isn't exactly what I would call 'solving' the problem. Lifetime in jail is a much better option.

    <quote>
    'Killing a few innocent and guilty men to save the lives of many more innocents OR
    Saving a few innocent and guilty men, but doom many times as much to death?'
    </quote>

    Exucse me, but you seriously need to re-consider your way of thinking. You genuinely think it's fair that people get sentenced to death for a crime they did not commit? What if it happened to someone you love? Would that just be another one of those 'few lives' you're constantly talking about?
