The Chain

by !*!Zoe!*!   Dec 14, 2004

I cry out in pain
But no-one comes to save me.
I have no Superman, no friends,
Just the chain
That keeps me bound to this pillar
Of evil, sickness and of death.
I get no sleep, I get no rest.
All I know is that there’s something
Better than this Hell I’m in.
And all I see is your lopsided grin.
You chuckle, laugh and then get hysterical
As I stare into the mechanical
Gears of hate and loathing.
Where maggots are kings,
And feed on human flesh.
Where tapeworms take over,
And surround us with mesh.
I tear myself away from your eyes,
And I know there is nothing more I despise,
Than that sneer on your face,
And the curl of your lip,
Which make me want to go back and retrace
My steps that led me to you.
And go somewhere else,
With better things to do,
Than submit to your voice,
Like I have no choice,
That bounds to the chain
That keeps me in pain.
