Life's simple pleasures (revised)

by Kia   Dec 22, 2004

Life's simple pleasures
And hidden treasures

Sitting around the warm fire
Holding the one you admire

Watching the beautiful sunset
'Till all your problems you forget

Listening to the falling rain
Tapping on roof and window pane

Hearing footsteps as children walk
Their first words, how they barely talk

Knowing they will always love you
A child's love is pure and true

Wrapping their small arms 'round your neck
The world stops, no more is a wreck

And how when he catches your eyes
You get all flustered and butterflies

Wishing upon a single star
All of these things and others are

Life's simple pleasures
And hidden treasures
