Goodbye Bob Shank

This one goes out to you Bob Shank
With this poem I will try to thank,
Thank you for being an idol to me
For helping me and others to see
Life's true grace, life's beauty

In the time I was here, I learned a lot
But one thing that could never be forgot
Is the way you touched hundreds or more
You enlightened the country, shore to shore
Did all of this without leaving your door

This all just one of the angles of you
Only one of the traits, remaining true
You touched this teenager with your rhyme
This you did day after day, time after time
Made this world better, but stopped no crime

I wish I would have gotten to know you better
Sent a Christmas card, or at least a letter
Although you live quite a few states away
I hope you hear every word I'm about to say
Keep being you, Bob, and never have a bad day

I know this did nothing to capture the true essence of Bob Shank, but I wrote down what I felt about him, and I hope you will also miss Bob Shank as much as I will.

    Aww that was very nice of you. Bob was truely an amasing man and everyone missed him terribly, maybe someday he'll be back. I think i may try to write something like this for him:) He was my hero and it was so sad to see him go.

    Anyway, great poem, keep it up.

    i dont usually comment on my own poems, but yeah he did get it, the day i wrote it i got an email from him, he said he enjoyed it, so yeah.

    AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW I love it!! Bob Shank is my favorite. I have made a point to keep in touch with him. He is an amazing person in my eyes. If it wasn't for him I honestly don't think I would have stayed on this site. He gave me courage and made me feel like I could do more and do better time after time. This is such a beautiful dedication to him. You did a great job.....Did he get to see it??

    Bob Shank was an amazing poet...I read a lot of his poems...I was upset that he was leaving though...I hope sometime he reads this poem...and possibly comes back...Great write Nookie. You're a very dedicated person. Nice job <3 xxxxxx
