Flashbacks

As I sit here thinking of you, when we are miles and miles apart,
It starts to really occur to me, how truly deep the feelings are in my heart…
I can’t get your eyes and your smile, out of my head,
I can’t quit hearing your voice, or thinking of all the things you’ve ever said…
Riding down the highway, with my head against the glass,
I look out the window, and as I watch everything pass…
My mind drifts back, to the day we first met,
I promise that’s one day, that I will never forget…
Everybody around me is talking, but I only hear part of what they say,
Because it’s not very long, before my attention slips away…
My thoughts take me, back to our first kiss,
There won’t be many moments we share, that was as special as this…
Remembering where I am, remembering that you’re not here,
It gets hard to fight back, each painful tear…
Through tired sad eyes, I look around,
From the cloudless sky, to the dry barren ground…
Memories pull me away, to the first time you said you loved me,
I know how much I love you, and without you I don’t know where I’d be…
Brought back to the present, by the tears streaming down my face,
I miss you so much, I don’t want to be in this place…
My place is beside you, not miles and miles apart,
Though absence makes the heart grow fonder, the distance is tearing at my heart…
All I want, is to be with you,
I’ll get there somehow, no matter what I have to do…
