A Patched Heart

by ashley   Jan 8, 2005

If I drew my heart for you, using the way I feel,
This is how I would draw it, if my drawing were real…
I would draw a big heart, that was strong from all the pain,
But with many little cracks, from being broken time and time again…
It would have little tears, here and there,
For the times we’re apart, the times that I can’t bear…
Little places where it’s been stretched, farther than what most people know,
Because though my hearts in my body, a part of it’s with you, wherever you go…
But then I would use my eraser, to erase all the little stretches holes and cracks,
And then redraw, what it is my heart lacks…
I would stitch the cracks together, I would fix the tears with glue,
I would draw patches over the holes, my heart is fixed because of you…
Each smile you give me, each time you look into my eyes,
Gets rid of a hurt part of my heart, from past cheating, hits, and lies…
Each hug, each kiss, makes my heart better than before,
It won’t be very long, before my heart doesn’t hurt anymore…
Pretty soon my heart, will be just like new,
And it will be like that, because of you…
Because of the love you give me, because of the time you share,
Because of the things you say, because of the way you care…
