Last Poem To You

by Amy   Jan 12, 2005

You were my first real love
We were best friends through and through
Is that how you’ll remember me
That’s how I want to remember you

Did you ever really love me
Or was it all just a game
I saw two different faces
Were they really one and the same

Breaking my heart and soul
Your cruel and thoughtless deeds
Are you sure that’s what you want
Stuck in my memory

I guess you’re nothing at all
But an endless nightmare now
I never thought it’d be this way
And still pray it’s not somehow

“Just an old friend,” I’m afraid,
Is what I will be labeled
Since you got what you wanted
And our love has been tabled

Although the deed was done long ago
You hurt me again and again
Your happiness simply blinds you
To anyone else’s pain

Here’s my last poem to you
I won’t wait anymore
I’m finally through
au revoir, mon amour
