The Never Ending Dream Of Reality

by Cantchangeme   Jan 14, 2005

Seamless thoughts drift through media controlled minds
A world where your free if you keep within the lines
Is this that distance i can see hidden in your eyes
The kingdom of the blessed or the bridge of sighs
Your given a tongue for words you not allowed to say
It's hard to believe in life, when even death is a cliche

The legend of human nature turns into your confines
A failure to function properly without the signs
When was the last time you heard yourself smile
The world's become your court and your hearts on trial
It's all just a dream, its a dream, make it a dream
Millions of people die everyday, just another scheme

A film of a near death starving 3 year old baby girl
The cameraman eating a feast, the justice of the world
The justice never matters if it all makes good news
A war with their conscience they will never lose
To get rich and fat off dying people in bad health
I'd rather put a shotgun to my temple and save myself

The people we once loved they all slowly fade to black
Like a living nightmare where reality wont take you back
The paper soldiers forcibly marched to their slaughter
And I'm trying too hard to keep my head above the water
I've said too much, I wish these words were fantasies
These words are not a dream they're everyday reality's

Within Every single whisper within every single thought
Thoughts of the transactions between love and my heart
I maybe just another broken, hurt, lost and blinded fool
Sweet little Suzie sample who brings a 45 colt to school
Can it truly be the worlds fault for individual insanity
I'm stuck here forever in the never ending dream of reality

i admire those lines. i think this is such a powerful poem. many people would choose to ignore it rather than drink it all in. it's great because it's so true...and you've capture it all here astoundingly. thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking. sorry if i haven't been in a while. take care:)
