Coming or Going

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 23, 2005

With the hope that the world is not so lovelorn
Every two seconds nine babies are born
The spirit of life, given by the Lord
Marked by the severed umbilical cord

Nine moon cycles from the time of conception
Infants await their miraculous reception
From a universe with laws not so agile
Each individual is somewhat more fragile

Life is not all pleasure. Life is not all sport
Losers long to win. Victories are too short
Nature forces us from the fertile womb
Nature alone guides us to an empty tomb

Are we the humble effect, or the proud cause?
Creating all universal, or man-made laws?
Have millions come from the dark to the Light?
What difference does time make to day, or night?

Do we go to the darkness, as if it were something to protect?
Or come to the Light of Love only a fool would reject?
There is Love, peace, and joy already known to some
As we are going toward the Light the Kingdom will come
