Terror

by FTS Miles   Jan 29, 2005

It's
a jagged edge shiver
coursing down spine,
profound and common
memories straining to be
recalled contemplated as
a moment of death glimpsed
threatens to transmute reality
into Its hearthalt Dream
as this shadow over shoulder
presses Its chill agenda,
soul clashing soul
until no darkness lies
unexplored, unthwarted,
darkness to ward,
Will and symbol
repelling deadly Will,
until at last my fortress
of flesh bleeding into Light
cleanses to warmth
and the invader is rebuked,
sent fleeing into shadows
anon… and, alas,
but for now.
