Dance of Your Life

He grabs your hand
And you begin to shake
You have waited for this moment
forever
Then he whispers, "Just trust me
and your heart I will never break."

You step to the middle of the floor
And your eyes begin to tear
You think to yourself, "Could this
be real?"
Then he spins you around and fills
your heart with cheer

He says, "I want to make this last
forever."
You nod your head and agree, "I
do, too."
But you know it will not last because
it never does
Then he promises, "I will stay by
your side. I promise i will never
leave you."

You suddenly stop spinning
And realize he was not true
You look around and see that he is
gone
But still you whisper, "I had the dance
of my life because of you."
