The innocence of a Child

by Tainted Butterfly   Feb 17, 2005

A new life to live
One to look upon
One with so much to give
At each new break of dawn
Little fingers on each little hand
Ten toes on both feet
So much to understand
A new challenge to meet
Tiny eyes on a soft face
Little nose and a small chin
A little one in his place
Of innocence and smooth skin
A new life and a new friend
Who looks at you with a smile
What a gift God will send
In the innocence of a life worthwhile
A gift of God's love
Something sweet and not wild
Sent from the skies up above
In the innocence of a child.
