In Heaven I Lie

by Unrequited   Feb 21, 2005

I’m now finished
yet not complete
give me the love
that I seek

my pain today
is gone tomorrow
when you look at me
I feel no sorrow

but now I know
that I will die
cancer’s got me
but I don’t know why
God has told me
my end is here
but I did not shed
one single tear
a wonderful husband
and three lovely boys
the Lord has blessed me
with so many joys

kiss me once more
and make me smile
for tomorrow’s my end
so please stay a while
my life on earth
has run it’s course
but when I’m through
show no remorse
for heaven is waiting for me

my pain today
is gone tomorrow
in the graveyard I lie
but please feel no sorrow
for I live on in you

“The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Beautifully written! This is my favorite yet. I love how you calmed down such a sad event....but did it in a way as to not take away from HER. Your words flowed so perfectly and sent across your message which you probably needed within yourself....Very strong! Absolutely perfect!! Take Care and God Bless! :) 5/5
