I Walk Alone

by UM   Feb 25, 2005

Surrounded by familiarity,
things I have seen everyday.
I walk alone.
Days tick by
but I do not notice.
My house, made for shelter,
has become a prison,
barring me from the outside.
I walk alone.
Stone crumbles before me
and wood rots.
Time passes me by,
forgotten in my confinement.
A shroud of loneliness,
my only friend in a constant blur
even reality seems hard to reach.
I walk alone.

I liked the repetition of "I walk alone". Very expressive. 4/5.
