Make Pretend

by deadnalone   Feb 26, 2005

I think there are some spelling mistakes but i had to change them for the spell checker to accept it sorry.

For all the girls who make pretend to be someone they’re not.

Look in the eyes of the popular one,
The one that is chased after by guys just for fun,

Look in her eyes and you see nothing but glass,
She is just a clump of fake, molded ass,

Look in her eyes and they shine with perfection,
Hidden behind her mask for protection,

You can’t see her heart and you can’t see her soul,
In most, normal people this is what makes them whole,

But there is no emotion of sadness or pain,
There is just a sparkle of glass once again,

They fit to each other and follow every rule,
They all look the same and they all look like fools,

They have no personality for they are all the same,
They have nothing to loose and everything to gain,

They can’t put their perfect necks on the line,
All because they’re perfect plastic in design,

No soul and heart, no flesh and blood,
They won’t drown if caught in a flood,

Floods of emotion bring no tears to their eyes,
They may occasionally strop off with their fake little cries,

But their make up stays perfect and they still are the same,
You look in the eyes and you see no complete soul again,

They are the latest models; mold to what is desired,
They have not yet been cast; they have not yet been fired,

No true inside just a hollow plastic doll,
Dress her to suit and she will again mold,

If the style is now Gothic that’s what she will be,
She’ll have rock on the stereo and metal on the TV,

She won’t understand it but then again she won’t have to,
She’ll just reform again and find something to tap into,

If the style is pop princess she’ll be dancing in the mirror,
She’ll try to sing like Britney and make her look clearer,

She’ll have steps on the wall and she’ll look up every night,
To her poster of boy zone and kiss it goodnight,

The fake little girls with the make up smiles,
They’d go anywhere to fit in, no matter the miles,

Fake all the actions, fake the life, and the mind,
Because no one really knows what it is hidden behind,

You’re a used piece of clay, soft and warm,
You’ll mold into anything, to fit in with the swarm,

What is with all your fake little plays?
Always changing character, so many new ways,

Why not take the clay and leave it to rest?
Turn back to the person you should know how to be best,

Be not the fake, the hidden, the made up,
Be who you should be, behind all your make up,

Forget conformity and fitting in just right,
Rip off the mask show yourself in new light,

Don’t try to fake it cause in the end,
There is no room for those who make pretend.

Fantastic poem and I really agree with what you're saying, I hate people that are fake and only following 'trends'. Brilliant poem, so so well written too! Always here!
