A Lonely Life

Have you ever thought about
how lonely life would be
if we had never met
if there were no you and me?

We'd have never known the laughter
and the secrets that we share
or just the joy of holding hands
knowing someone cares.

We'd miss all the special times
soft music and candle light
the feel of our bodies close together
holding each other all night.

We'd not have felt this love inside
that's captured both our hearts
or the longing that we feel
when we must be apart.

Yes, it would be a lonely life
to live without your kiss
never see your gorgeous eyes
just think of all we'd miss.
