The Real Me

It may seem so hard to believe
But I really am alright
You may think I try to be so happy
But I don't even put up a fight

I'm always laughing, I'm always happy
And I always wear a smile
You'll never see a tear in my eyes
For tears are simply vile

My thoughts are always pure and clean
I float above all without strife
I have no intentions of ending this dream
That I proudly call my life

And this always smiling, beautiful face
Is never stained by tears
I've never had to cry at all
For I've conquered all my fears

Don't even get me started
On my flawless, glowing skin
Nothing has ever touched this body
I've never commited sin

And here I go dreaming again
Of a perfect life, not mine
It's pretty obvious, just look at me
These eyes scream "I'm not fine"

Just lift these sleeves, but not too high
For you will surely see
The scars explain it, get used to this
For this is the real me
