My Dearest Friend

I am suddenly very worried,
this seems like deja vu,
and no matter how hard I try,
I can't seem to get through to you.

I know your little secret,
the one you tried to hide,
the one you still wont talk about,
because its locked deep inside.

I think you need some help,
and I mean this from the depths of my soul,
because I am worried that your self-abuse,
will eventually take its toll.

You don't listen to what I say,
no matter how hard I cry,
you then ignore my pleas,
and your problems you quickly deny.

I'm worried that you might go to far,
unable then to return,
no longer able to talk with me,
under the great big fern.

So I dedicate this poem to you,
in hopes you might some day see,
how much you are needed,
especially right now,
and how beautiful life can be.
