Soul-extraction

by paperdoll   Apr 10, 2005

Disconnection.
losing self in a blurring of operations:
a book
a body
a blade
a parasitic obsession with the source of separation,
a means of soul-extraction.
colder than it looks.

what a fine fine line between
this world and the next series of frayed realities, lying
disconnected
across the fragments of a mind. savour the sensation.

introspection
without self-awareness,
a moment
lasting longer than intended,
complete the separation.
decision and finality or merely a deft incision? we are left,
ghosts in modern dress,
pondering the consequences.

I leave, uninhabited.

a very chilling poem, especially the last line, but i also love the phrase 'parasitic obsession with the source of separation.' and thanks for your nice note.

Your words inspire a series of animations dressed in saturn rings and a starry space.
A complete extrapolation of the spiritual imagination.
    This was excellent.
