Mysticism of Perfection

by Unseen Exposure   Apr 11, 2005

Shining bright and over head
The moon surrounds the sky
Every person's eyes a gaze
Awaiting the night's reply

Faeries dance on twinkle toes
Wolves howl from their caves
Living pray with failing hands
As the dead crawl from graves

Stars explode and break apart
As couples depart their rings
Angels fall from heaven's skies
And the devil breaks their wings

Mermaids thrust fins and hope
As the sun beams lose their glow
Secrets expose in malicious ways
Not knowing which way to go

Alas, the King takes the rule
To the peasants from all the lands
As roses fade in captured form
The touch of the cynical hands

Witches torch their cauldrons
As skeletons bask in the flames
Lions roar in metal cages
Begging to break the chains

God's look down from Olympus
And curse the lives of the flawed
Perfection never came easy
Perfection never came at all.
