The Ship

by Tainted Butterfly   Apr 18, 2005

She took to the sea
On her maiden voyage
A ship full of dreams, hopes
and insurmountable courage.

Left the safety of the harbor
where she was kept so long
Time to open up her sails
Let the wind make her strong.

Take a chance, travel the world
Survive despite a storm
Not be scared of going home
To the place that keeps her warm.

The ship reminds me
Of the girl i used to be.
Someone afraid to take sail
In that unpredictable sea.

Yet no matter how scared
Every ship must leave it's harbor.
Sail to the meaning of it's dreams
That's what ships were built for.
