Sleepy Head

by Fig   Apr 21, 2005

I climbed the threadbare carpet stairs
To my messy bed
But as I tip toed past his door
I checked on sleepy head
His crumpled little duvet
His moonlight sprinkled hair
I listened to him breathing
As I quietly waited there
He moaned a little in his sleep
But I stayed a while more
My back against his toy box
And my head against the door
The love I felt for that young bundle
Sleeping ‘till the day
Although my heart may harden
It will never go away

    Honey! It's lovely!

I hate to say this, but if you showed it to Mum, she'd want a framed copy to put up on the wall...
