True Friendship

A friend is someone special
who's always there for you
who helps you out no matter what
and encourages you to make it through

even though they may not understand

when you need a helping hand

someone who makes memories
that actually mean something inside
someone you can run to
when there's no other place to hide

someone who shares your anger,
hatred and pain
someone who will be there
to shelter you from the rain

someone who knows the truth
behind those beautiful loving eyes
someone who can see the pain hidden
beneath your false, happy disguise

someone who's there to catch you
even if you're friends no more
for a true friendship is unbroken
though you think you've closed the door

so no matter how much you hate me
i wouldn't care if you killed me now
I'd come back as a guardian angel
I'll always be faithful to my vow

i promised friends forever
and I'm not sure about you
